What is Propagio?
Propagio is a web app for people who share fermentation starters such as sourdough, water kefir, milk kefir, kombucha, yogurt cultures, jun, tibicos, and ginger bug.
It helps people find others nearby without publishing exact home or street-level coordinates on public profiles.
Is Propagio a marketplace?
No. Propagio is not a marketplace, payment processor, courier, or fulfillment platform.
It is a directory and request workflow for local starter sharing between users.
What information is public on my profile?
Your public profile can include your display name, avatar, bio, website, the cultures you share, an approximate location label, and any contact channels you mark as public.
Contact channels marked as on_request stay hidden until you approve a request.
Does Propagio show my exact address?
No. Propagio is designed to show an approximate area rather than an exact address.
The app stores a public A5 cell for matching and display, plus a human-readable location label. Public discovery is meant to work at neighborhood scale.
How do contact requests work?
When someone finds a profile that looks relevant, they can send a contact request.
The sharer can approve or decline it. If approved, any on_request channels become visible to the requester.
Do I need to make my contact details public?
No. You can keep contact methods private and only reveal them after approval.
This lets people discover that you share a culture without exposing all contact details up front.
What kinds of starters can I list?
Propagio currently supports sourdough, water kefir, milk kefir, kombucha, tibicos, ginger bug, jun, and yogurt cultures.
Is Propagio available in multiple languages?
Yes. The public site and the web app support English and Spanish.
